Gold Enterprises builds Gold WiFi — the software that small internet businesses across Tanzania use to sell WiFi access from their own MikroTik routers.
What we do
A "hotspot business" — a shop, a neighbourhood ISP, a lodge, a compound — buys and owns a MikroTik router and an
internet connection. Gold WiFi is the platform that connects to that router and turns it into a self-service WiFi
business: a captive sign-in page for customers, printable or SMS-able vouchers, direct mobile-money payment for
instant access, a free-trial option, and a dashboard where the business owner can see revenue, manage packages,
and withdraw their earnings. We do not sell internet connectivity ourselves and we do not own or operate any
business's router — we provide the software layer that runs on top of it.
Who we serve
Businesses — the hotspot/ISP owners who register an account, connect their router, and use
Gold WiFi to run their WiFi sales. These are our direct, paying customers (see our
Terms of Service for how platform billing works).
End-customers — the people who connect to a business's WiFi and buy a package or redeem a
voucher through the captive portal. We process their connection and payment on the business's behalf, but the
WiFi service itself is provided by the business, not by us.
How the platform works, briefly
Router connection — a business links its MikroTik router to Gold WiFi over an encrypted
connection (directly, or through a secure WireGuard tunnel for routers behind NAT/CGNAT).
Captive portal — customers who join the WiFi network are shown a sign-in page (either
rendered by our servers, or a lightweight version installed directly on the router itself for faster loading)
where they redeem a voucher, start a free trial, or pay by mobile money.
Payments — mobile-money payments (M-Pesa, Tigo/Mixx by Yas, Airtel Money, HaloPesa, and
others) are processed through licensed third-party payment providers; Gold Enterprises never holds a
customer's mobile-money PIN or full financial account details.
Subscriptions — a business pays Gold Enterprises a monthly, six-month, or yearly platform
fee to keep generating vouchers, after an initial free trial period.
Where we operate
Gold Enterprises is based in Tanzania and built primarily for the Tanzanian market — pricing is in Tanzanian
Shillings (TZS) and our payment integrations are built around Tanzanian mobile-money networks.
